Cutscene Order for District Takeovers

  • Ok, I need to get this straight, then I'm going to set up a standard format for all of the narrative sections on the mission pages.

First off, what's the criteria for getting the scene with Maguire telling of the witness who saw Sal leaving Sammy's bar the night of the fire? Is it the first racket takeover after killing the first capo?

Next up is the order of cutscenes after killing the three capos.

    • First capo killed:
      • Any news report, Senate hearing or Maguire commentary.
      • Sal talks with Giorgi about their death.
      • Sal calls Leo Galante.
      • Father James talks about reconciling the part of him that helped Lincoln, with his own faith.
      • News report about their death.
    • Second capo killed:
      • Any news report, Senate hearing or Maguire commentary.
      • Sal doesn't have a talk with Giorgi, but takes a meeting with Santangelo instead.
        • (Unless it's Olivia, then it's just a short convo about Giorgi slicing her ear to ear.)
      • Father James points out where Sammy's used to be...
      • News report about their death.
    • Third capo killed:
      • Any news report, Senate hearing or Maguire commentary.
      • Cutscene with Father James saying Lincoln once told him he couldn't turn the other cheek...
      • Leads into the final sitdown where Lincoln says they own the city.
      • News report about construction on the casino coming to a standstill.
      • Sal talks with Giorgi about their death (in the opening cutscene of Yet Here We Are).

Let me know if I have something wrong or you've experienced anything different.

    • Another thing on this, I'm not sure where the sitdown comes into play, or if it's the same/different depending on the order. I know sometimes it comes before the cutscenes and others it's after or possibly in between.

Not exactly, I've only seen it play at the first racket takeover after killing Lou. The reason for this is it mentions Judge Holden, and he's not introduced by name until the mission where he's killed. I'm not sure if you have to kill Lou for it to play, or if only killing the Judge is enough.

It's also unclear if it'll play towards the end of the game, like if there's only one or two rackets left after killing Lou. I know there's another cutscene like this, the one about Remy Duvall that may play after taking over the second racket in Frisco Fields. I've only seen that cutscene once, in a playthrough where Olivia was the first capo I dealt with. However, in another playthrough there was no cutscene there. So if it's not a bug, it means that cutscene likely only appears early in the game, and the same may apply to the other one too.

    • Everything looks correct for the cutscenes after killing the three capos. I'm gonna add a few things to your original message.

    • So the only place it could play is either in the fists and the flames or the privileged die slow. I'll just add a short remark on each of those pages.

    • Well I have a rough draft on my sandbox 3, feel free to have a look. I'll go over it and make changes later. I'm not going to list the radio news reports, those are something that can be documented on the New Bordeaux News page.

No, it could also play in The Dead Stay Gone or Hot Rubber & Cold Blood.

All the cutscenes under consideration here come before the sitdowns. The only ones that come after the sitdowns are Donovan's briefings for the next district.

As for the content of the sitdown, if Lincoln doesn't take any rackets away from any of the underbosses, then he'll talk about the district, except for the first and last sitdowns. This is what we currently have in the narrative on the Sitdown page. However, the first time an underboss isn't happy with Lincoln's decisions, Lincoln will give everyone a lecture about loyalty, and if an underboss is about to betray Lincoln, there will be a talk about that. Do you think we should cover all these other scenarios on that page as well?

    • No, I'm pretty sure the sitdown comes before the conversation with Santangelo. Anyway, I'm not going to cover the sitdowns there, I'm going to add them to the sitdown page. I don't see the point in adding all the different scenarios, just the main thing Lincoln says about the lieutenant or capo and their district. There's far too many things said at them, as well as what can set them off, to cover them all. I'll probably add what they all say at the last one though.

    • Well I watched a video and the scene with Santangelo was before the sitdown, which is how I remember it always being for me. Also, I think the last sitdown can vary too, just maybe not as much as the others.
