The Betrayal of Jimmy was originally a PlayStation 3-exclusive DLC add-on, however it is now also available as DLC on the Xbox 360 (Special Edition only, not available on marketplace). The player controls Jimmy, a gun for hire who will do any job for the right price. The main character, Jimmy, is the same character from Jimmy's Vendetta. The Betrayal of Jimmy is not canon with Mafia II.

Gameplay Edit

The Betrayal of Jimmy offers a more arcade-like gameplay, while still maintaining the basic structure, style, and controls as Mafia II. Players earn points and money for doing certain actions, such as killing enemies. In addition, this DLC is more internet-involved than the base game, with online leaderboards.

The Betrayal of Jimmy is far less story-based than Mafia II. While the base game progresses in chapters, each one with a personal connection to the main character, the missions in the Betrayal of Jimmy are seemingly unrelated to the main storyline thread.

The general layout is more free-roaming than Mafia II. Rather than having one objective at a time, the missions after the very first part of the DLC are all laid out on the mini-map, and the player is free to embark upon any mission they wish, on their own time. New mission types are also available, such as assassinations, and vehicle-based missions.

Mafia II Platinum Hits has been released for the Xbox 360 which includes all DLC, including The Betrayal of Jimmy.

The Betrayal of Jimmy is also available on Steam, albeit only in certain Eastern European countries, for €7.99.

The Russian company 1C officialy announced "Mafia 2: Extended Edition" for Russian market. It will include the game, 4 DLC (Vegas Pack, Renegade Pack, Greaser Pack, and War Hero Pack), and "The Betrayal of Jimmy" as well as 2 other addons (Jimmy's Vendetta and Joe's Adventures). It was released on December 3, 2010 for PC. It will be released for Xbox 360 later.
