Also known as Saint Michelle's Home for Colored Boys, the orphanage was located in the French Ward and was where young Lincoln Clay grew up. Father James worked closely with the orphanage to help improve conditions and foster character in the young boys who grew up there.
Closing Its Doors
When the city of New Bordeaux cut its funding in 1958, the orphanage was unable to sustain itself and closed its doors for good. Since that time Father James has continued fighting to help the community and do his best to keep wayward children on the straight-and-narrow.
