Oasis is the new skin that Wikia will be putting on Mafia game Wiki along with all there other wiki's in October 2010, to replace Monaco. This new skin is mandatory, and we will be unable to revert back to Monaco or Monobook.

Timeline

• October 6, 2010 - All logged in users will be able to “switch on” the new look for themselves on any wiki they visit.
• October 20, 2010 - All users will see the new look on every wiki. Logged in users will have the temporary option of viewing and editing wikis in Monaco.
• November 3, 2010 - The option to use Monaco will be removed.

Yes! Joe is getting it's own DLC. Xbox360achievements.org announced it today. Here's a quote from the newpost:

Joe's Adventures takes place during the middle segment in Mafia II that sees Vito heading to jail. During this time, you'll be playing as Joe while he strives to learn the truth behind Vito's detainment and the goings on and machinations of the rival Clemente family.

Joe's Adventures will boast similarly action-packed arcade gameplay to Jimmy's Vendetta and will feature new clothing, items (such as moustache and aviators!) and period music.

There's currently no price tag or release date for Joe's Adventures. There are however, five new screenshots of the DLC. See 'em in the freakin' gallery.

"Jimmy's Vendetta." Out on September 7, the pack will cost players $9.99 for PlayStation 3 and PC, and 800 MS Points for Xbox 360.

"Jimmy's Vendetta" puts players in the shoes of a mafioso clean up guy, in a more arcade style experience featuring a slew of new missions like assassinations and car chases. The DLC adds a more arcade-style dimension to Mafia II, adding a scoring system including combos and multipliers, as well as a leaderboard to see who's doing the best job as old baldy.

As it's just a week until the game will be released, the first magazine exclusive reviews are arriving! From what I've heard, all these reviews are extremely positive about the game! I will give details on the review of the Dutch games magazine Power Unlimited, which I received today. The game got a Gold medal, which means its among the best games out now.

• The game does not have any ways of "fast travelling" like GTA IV does, as such you have to take extremely good care of your cars, as stealing cars is a dangerous and time-consuming task. You'll also have to repair your cars. In exchange, you have the ability to "pimp" your car like we saw in for example GTA San Andreas. The game features several missions where you have to drive to a certain destination without any shooting.
• The game has many references to Mafia movies such as The Godfather, GoodFellas and Pulp Fiction (ever noticed the resemblance of Vito with Micheal Corleone)?
• The game does not feature any "sandbox game activitites"…

2K has confirmed that a playable demo for Mafia II will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on August 10. The demo will include a mission titled "Buzzsaw" in which Vito, Joe, and Henry are assigned with taking out The Fat Man.

Yes, 2KGames has announced that there will be DLC available for those who buy the game before it has been released. Xbox360Achievements reports the following:

As if Mafia II wasn't already looking pure gangster, 2K has gone and announced the 'Made Man' Collector's Edition for the game, which comes with extra content and some bonus goodies, all wrapped up in a bulletproof steelbook case (it's not actually bulletproof if anyone was planning to use it as a shield).

Here's the complete list of contents for the Collector's Edition, which obviously includes the Mafia II game. Otherwise almost no one would buy it:

• Collectible SteelBook Casing: Brushed metallic SteelBook hard case with debossed logo containing two pieces of art featuring Vito and Joe, the stars of Mafia II.

Alex Cox of 2K Games has announced that Mafia II will be bringing us a true "realistic experience". This will have major impact on the game world, he says.

Alex said: "Every enemies dies after being hit with 2 shots. The player will, however, also be killed in 4 or 5 shots." - this means that those Halo 3-lovers won't be getting their hit-and-run tactic. Mafia II will get an Uncharted 2-like cover system to make up for this.

The police will also be present, and they might even arrest you for having a false plate, or when driving through a red light (too bad, GTA fans). Also, don't forget to fill up on gas... You'll need it, as cars will run out of gas when driving too long.
