I removed your edit because as I stated in the edit summary, we don't use personality sections on our character pages. We try to keep or pages factual, and these type of sections have a tendency to be opinionated, because of this they end up being constantly edited as people will always have differing opinions.
It's been quite long now. Whether yes or no, you can let me know. I don’t think it’ll be long and sums up his motivations that he wanted to bud a casino and turn legal so he could avoid a potential violent death of his son.
When you have time, can you see how many stag flicks locations you get on the map after wiretapping the French Ward? I tried it twice and I only got seven of them. There's supposed to be eight, and I'm pretty sure I've seen 8 of them before. I'm trying to figure out if it's a bug in my playthroughs, or if they may have removed one with one of the DLC updates or something.
Actually there are 8 of them, apparently one of them is bugged and doesn't show on the map until I do one location. The same thing was also happening with the kinky VIPs. I can post it in the bugs report thread if you want.
Should I remove the part at the beginning of that page linking to the bugs thread then? Also, do you think this one's more notable than other similar bugs? I know there's several other objectives that can do that, and as I remember we decided not to list those on the bugs page. Or did you combine them into one general post, the first item under Map Related Bugs?
I guess we'll leave it there for now, I'd rather users report bugs in the forum then add them to the pages.
I don't recall the specific bugs we decided not to list on the bugs page, but we should at least make a note on the mission page. Also, did you try reloading to see if all 8 showed up, or is it only once you do the first one?
So I guess I'll add it to the walkthrough along with the appropriate objective, like we've done with several others?
As for which bugs we added to the bugs page, it seems we only added those that are more significant, as in having a significant effect on gameplay. For some reason we do have the one with the Destroy Southern Union supplies objective, but no other similar ones involving objectives disappearing from or showing improperly on the map. When I play that racket again, I can see about adding some of these if they're still in the game.
I reverted your edits because they were linked to the incorrect pages, like the cut M14 being linked to Mafia III's Automat SG.
As for some of these other additions to that page, vehicles appearing in artwork does not indicate they are cut content, and the billboards showing Mafia II vehicles are merely Easter eggs. Also, we do not add speculation to our pages. Statements like "it might be that 2K Czech reused assets" and "may have just reused assets" indicate that you're just guessing as to why.
Now as for the gas stations entry under gameplay features, something that was considered as a feature but never made it into the final game is not considered cut content. During the development process, many ideas are tossed around as possible features but then decided against or changed. I'm sure you could write whole book on ideas Hangar 13 had for Mafia III that meet that criteria, we do not consider these cut content.
I still need to go over the additions you made with the Mafia I vehicles, and I'll post more later if I have comments. In the meantime, please read our Media Policies before you upload any more images or videos, and feel free to ask any questions if you have them.
Was the information I entered to North Lake too unrelated or formatted wrong? I saw the page in passing and thought to add some more history to how the region developed in the story and its relationship to New Bordeaux.
The information is unsubstantiated. There's nothing in the game that states North Lake was called Lewis Springs prior to 1968. It's likely they just decided to use a different name for the area, like they did for other locations.
Naw, it's official--you can find the name and a bunch of other names for places part of the game fiction on the map included in the game: []
Technically speaking, the area is Lewis Springs. North Lake was the internal name used for just body of water until the 2K Legal department said it was okay to use Lake Pontchartrain. Using that name for where the Casino was happened because someone on the team didn't ask for the correct name. It was also a failure for the QA Department to catch the temporarily internal name being used and having it updated to Lewis Springs.
(I worked on the game, so you can ask me anything you're wondering about when it comes to the city)
Unfortunately our policy is that if it's not referenced in the game or an official publication, then it doesn't go on our pages. While that map may list that area as Lewis Springs, there's nothing further mentioned as to why it isn't named that in-game.
As for you having worked on the game, while I'm not saying you're lying, we get people making that claim on a regular basis. In fact I believe you, or someone else claiming to be Nathan Cheever, emailed me about a year ago, unfortunately it was from a yahoo address and not one officially tied to 2K or Hangar 13 as others have done.
Even if we verified who you are, we still wouldn't be able to add any kind of inside information to the pages unless it could be verified in-game. You're certainly welcome to contribute with the wiki within those bounds though, and I hope you can understand why our policy is what it is.
We keep the vehicle descriptions basic. It's an armored van, so it's obviously more durable and can withstand most gunfire, there's no need to keep reiterating that point with specifics. The other information was more opinion/strategy related. I did put back one of your trivia entries.
The Angeleno does look like a 1965 Lincoln Continental, can't find any resemblance in the 1969 Dodge Monaco. Just wondering, did you undo that edit due to her bad english, or do you insist it's based off of the 1969 Dodge Monaco?
I finally figured out how to do that, with the help of the video linked in the other thread. After you're prompted to enter Sammy's, you have to follow Donovan as he drives to the motel. When I just did it he got out and stood frozen, not sure if that's always the case though. Then I shoved him into the water using a car, and after the car crashed in the water I slowly pushed him the rest of the way. When he got all the way in he thrashed around in the water for a few seconds, and then disappeared and I got the mission failure for killing him.
It seems more like a bug to me, and my guess is that it's not supposed to happen, as he's invincible elsewhere, and they only made that cutscene in case he somehow gets killed, or perhaps they originally intended for it to be an option.
My guess would be that they originally intended Donovan to play a larger role that would allow him to be killed, or maybe it was added as part of the Stones DLC before they made him invincible. Either way, it seems more like an exploit, so I removed the reference from the other pages and left it as a trivia entry on Donovan's with further clarification.
Speaking of Stones Unturned, Donovan will say some of the same stuff he says in the DLC, if you take him into combat during that chapter, as by going to a racket location. There's also some stuff he can say that I haven't heard anywhere else, as when he gets injured.
I would like to know why my edit was reverted. I can understand if it may have not suited the article, but I'd prefer if you gave an explanation as to why. I would not like to cause a fight between us, I'm just curious.
The information you added about Donovan's testimony is considered part of the Lincoln Clay documentary and not part of the storyline for the mission, so it isn't included in the epilogue portion of the narrative.
