The New Bordeaux Opera House is located in the northwestern corner of Downtown.

Sixty years ago, the opera house was set on fire by black residents of New Bordeaux, who were tired of being lynched by whites. They waited until the city's most powerful white citizens were inside and then set fire to it, killing about a hundred people inside, including many members of the Ensanglante. After this, the building was left condemned, and it was thought that the Ensanglante was ended thereafter. In reality, however, the remaining members disappeared into Bayou Fantom, resurfacing in 1968.
The Ensanglante consider it one of their Places of Darkness due to its past history and have recently begun using it for their cult activities and ceremonies for the Well-Borns rituals, including engaging in sexual concourse with one another under the guidance of their High Priest in an effort to increase the cults numbers.
