The Zavesky Observatory is located in Hillwood, northeast of Empire Bay. The observatory has a planetarium inside and outside, another disused observatory. The planetarium is funded by Carlo Falcone, Don of the Falcone crime family. Whether or not Falcone uses the planetarium as a front for the family is unknown.
The Zavesky Observatory is virtual replica of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, CA, which has been featured in the films "Rebel Without a Cause", "The Terminator", and several other movies.
In Mafia II: On September 26, 1951, 56 men were shot and killed by Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro. 43 by Vito making his way up to Carlo. And 12 by Vito and Joe. Also, Carlo was killed by Vito. So if 56 men were killed in a gangland massacre in real life it would still be relevant today. So over 60 years later it would still be talked about as history if it really happened.
It is only accessable in the final chapter "Per Aspera Ad Astra".
