The 1911 Semi is a weapon in Mafia II.

Often called the M1911 or just 1911, it's a semi-automatic handgun originally designed by John M. Browning that was widely used by the US military since World War I. Due to its simple design and dependability it was later adopted by law enforcement, civilians, and gangsters alike, with most major gun manufacturers around the world producing their own version of the 1911 design.

Having appeared in Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven as the Colt 1911, the weapon returns in Mafia II acting as a default weapon, either being given to or already in the player's inventory at all points of the game and its DLCs.

The weapon has a magazine capacity of 7 rounds and the player can carry an additional 7 magazines for a total of 56 rounds. It has a semi-automatic rate of fire with a low amount of recoil, making it extremely accurate. It occupies a slot in the right of the weapons HUD along with other single handed weapons.

They become available for sale at McClusky & Son in Chapter 2, though the player will be given one by Joe Barbaro prior to stealing a car for Mike Bruski in the same chapter. Joe will give Vito another 1911 Semi upon his release from prison in the beginning of chapter 7. A third one may be given by Joe in Chapter 11 before storming the Hill of Tara.

The 1911 Semi will be in the player's inventory from the beginning of The Betrayal of Jimmy and Joe's Adventures. In Jimmy's Vendetta it will be in the player's inventory after completing Too Good to be True.
